WHAT IS
ANIMAL REHAB?
Animal rehabilitation, just like physical therapy in the human medical field, is a branch of veterinary medicine that aims to decrease pain, speed healing after an injury or surgery, maximize strength and mobility, restore function, and improve quality of life. We join you alongside your veterinarian to guide you on your pet's recovery and wellness.

Certified/Licensed Animal Rehabilitation Therapists use many of the same interventions used in human physical therapy to manage and treat injuries, pathologies, and functional impairments. The rehabilitation plan of care includes a rehabilitation examination and evaluation, rehabilitation diagnosis, and the prescription of physical interventions.

Animal rehabilitation can benefit animals of all ages, many species, and a variety of diagnoses. We frequently see animals with osteoarthritis, orthopedic injury, neurologic disease, post-operative recovery, trauma, or age-related decline in function. We also see animals for weight management, wellness, and performance/conditioning.

Our goal at Rise Animal Wellness and Rehabilitation is to provide quality collaborative care as a member of your pet’s care team. In the human medical field, physical therapists are considered allied healthcare providers. We function very similarly in the animal field and work alongside your veterinarian to provide comprehensive rehabilitation care. We will equip you to feel empowered in your role in your pet’s recovery or wellness.
We utilize a variety of therapies with the goals of helping your pet to decrease pain, speed healing, regain mobility, and return to the activities they love.
We also offer a variety of programming options including wellness, weight management, and home exercise programs.
