Dr. Elizabeth Bracciano

Canine Rehab Therapist

About Me

I was born in Michigan and raised in Nebraska, a place that has always felt like home. My husband and I spent the past seven years living in Iowa, and now we are excited to call Omaha home. We share our life with our fur child, Tater Tot, who keeps us entertained. When I'm not in the rehab gym or working at the hospital, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, planning future trips, and channeling my creativity into various interior design projects.

Occupational Therapy Background

I graduated from Creighton University in 2017 with my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD). Immediately after graduating I began working directly alongside the Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons as a hand therapist in an outpatient setting. I received my hand therapy specialist certification (CHT) in 2022. I have had the opportunity to support patients through every stage of recovery - from the first days after an injury or surgery to getting back to the activities that matter the most to them. I especially enjoy creating custom orthotics, as it allows me to creatively problem-solve unique challenges and design individualized solutions to help patients function more comfortably and confidently - both in the human and canine world.

Animal Rehabilitation Experience

My transition into canine rehabilitation grew naturally from a lifelong love of dogs and from my own personal experiences with my dog, Tater Tot. I was first introduced to canine rehabilitation after Tater Tot sustained a hindlimb injury that required multiple surgeries. Throughout her recovery process, I was able to lean on my therapy background to support her recovery, and it inspired me to pursue a career in canine rehabilitation. I attended an introductory canine rehab course in Omaha, where I realized I could combine my passion for therapy with my love of animals. I completed my certification in canine rehabilitation (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee and Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning. While completing my certification, I worked closely with Dr. Whitley Case, gaining valuable experience. I am excited to officially join the team at Rise Animal Wellness and Rehabilitation to support dogs and their families throughout Omaha and the surrounding communities.
