Physical Therapy Treatment Session
A hands on treatment session to follow the plan of care established during the evaluation to continue down the path to recovery.
Treatment sessions are 60 minutes in length and can include many different aspects of physical therapy including manual therapy, targeted therapeutic exercise, or other therapeutic modalities. For horses that are in regular work treatments are often more hands-on to include mobilization of tissues throughout the body and around the injury site to keep them mobile and allow optimal strengthening. For horses just returning to regular work treatment sessions can include groundwork and progression of in hand/under saddle exercises. Progression and continuation of all exercise recommendations can be discussed at each treatment session.
